BRONXVILLE, N.Y. —The Friends of the Bronxville Public Library have announced plans for “An Evening of J.S. Bach” on Friday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m.
The concert will feature cellist Eugene Briskin and harpsichord player Sándor Szabó performing sonatas for harpsichord and cello, as well as solo works.
The Russian-born Briskin received his musical training at the Leningrad Conservatory and was part of an award-winning string quartet at the Prague International Competition at age 14. He has continued to play chamber music internationally while teaching cello at The Bronxville School.
Sándor Szabó has a well-established reputation as 'one of the leading organists in the state' (Classical New Jersey Society Journal).
Dr. Szabó is a conductor, organist, pianist, vocal coach, arranger and adjudicator throughout Europe, Canada and the United States and is currently the Minister of Music at the Reformed Church of Bronxville.
