Storm System Will Bring Drenching Downpours, Strong Wind Gusts: Here's Timing
A storm system on track for the first day of fall will be packed with heavy rain and wind gusts between 30 and 40 miles per hour in parts of the region, according to the National Weather Service. The system, which will arrive Saturday morning, Sept. 23, and continue well into the evening, will stem from a tropical area of low pressure off the Florida peninsula. Latest On Larry: Impacts From Hurricane Will Be 'Far Reaching' Even If Eye Stays Off Coast
New projections continue to keep the eye of the newest named storm of the 2021 hurricane season off the United States coast, but due to its size and strength, impacts from Larry will be "far-reaching," experts say. Larry is the third major hurricane -- Cat 3 or higher -- in the Atlantic this hurricane season. It could hit Cat 4 strength with maximum winds of 140 by Lab…

In fact, some areas, specifically in upstate New York, could see between 6 and 12 inches of the white stuff. Those areas are shown in dark blue in the first image above. The time frame for the storm system is Wedn…

Spring may be the thing these days, but a staple of the winter season will be making a return appearance this week just as the calendar moves from March to April. A storm system taking aim on the Northeast will bring a new round of rain, plus some snow in parts of the region. And it's no April Fools' Joke. The time frame for the storm system is Wednesday afternoon, March 31 into Thursday afternoon, April 1, with the chance for light snow in the overnight hours. Little or no accumulation is expected for this area. "The best chances right now for any accumulating snow at this time appears t…
