Double Fatal: Hudson Valley Grandmother With Toddler Hit, Killed By Garbage Truck Also Dies A grandmother walking with a Hudson Valley 3-year-old boy killed by a garbage truck has died. The incident took place in Dutchess County in the town of Poughkeepsie around 1 p.m., Monday, April 11. The incident occurred on Stanley Street at the intersection with Mary Avenue when a 2019 Royal Carting garbage truck operated by a 41-year-old man, hit two pedestrians in the roadway, said Lt. State Police Vehicle Involved In Westchester Crash A New York State Trooper received minor injuries after being rear-ended by another vehicle while in traffic in Westchester. The crash took place around 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, on I-287 westbound in White Plains when the trooper was sitting in traffic and was rear-ended by another vehicle, said Trooper Tara McCormick. The vehicle received minor damage.  The trooper was treated for minor neck and back pain, McCormick said.  No other injuries were reported.
