Hudson Valley Gets $38M For ‘Environmentally Friendly’ Pedestrian, Biking Projects
The Hudson Valley is set to receive more than $38 million in federal funding to help pay for new pedestrian and biking projects around the region. New York was awarded a total of $178.8 million in federal dollars that will go to 75 communities across the state for projects that promote environmentally friendly modes of travel and make it easier and safer to bike and walk, according to Gov. An investigation by police in Westchester led to the arrest of a man and woman who allegedly bilked a woman out of more than $15,000. On Saturday, March 13, the Onalaska Wisconsin Police Department requested the assistance of the Town of Greenburgh Police Department after an elderly resident of Onalaska reported she had been defrauded out of $15,500.00, Greenburgh Police Lt. A police force in one of Westchester's largest towns has been especially hit hard by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic with some 20 employees testing positive, including the chief. Town of Greenburgh Police, made up of 112 officers, have battled the virus right along with residents with 20 of 54 officers, EMS, and general personnel testing positive for COVID-19, said Greenburgh Police Lt. Westchester Man Hacks Into Account, Posts Inappropriate Photo, Police Say
A 65-year-old Westchester man is behind bars after state police say he hacked into a victim’s online account and posted an inappropriate photo without the victim’s permission. John F. Mahoney of Hartsdale was charged with computer tampering (a Class E felony), computer trespass (also a Class E felony), and aggravated harassment, a Class A misdemeanor. Update: An 85-year-old Westchester man who went missing has been located and is safe. John Lamson was observed by a concerned citizen walking in the vicinity of the BP Gas Station, 190 Aqueduct Road in White Plains at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6 in the Town of Greenburgh, Greenburgh Police said.
