Dryer Fire At School In Northern Westchester Prompts Emergency Response Emergency crews had to race to a school in Northern Westchester after a dryer fire caused a haze of smoke to fill the building.  The incident happened on Wednesday, Aug. 9 just after 9:45 p.m., when members of the Somers Volunteer Fire Department were sent to the Lincoln Hall Boys' Haven at 145 Route 202 on reports of smoke in the building.  According to the fire department, arriving crews found a light haze and burning smell inside the school and soon found a contained dryer fire in the building's basement.  A hose line was then quickly used to extinguish the blaze.  …

Man Busted With Meth, Gun During Traffic Stop In Region, Police Say A 22-year-old man was busted with more than two ounces of crystal methamphetamine and a loaded 9mm handgun during a traffic stop. The stop took place in Rockland County in Haverstraw on Route 202 around 3:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 31. The drugs and gun were found during a stop of Ethan Iglesias, age 22, of West Milford, New Jersey, said Chief William Barbera, of the Rockland County Sheriff's Office. Iglesias was arrested, processed, and remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility without bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, April 4, said Barbera.

The crash took place earlier Thursday morning, Sept. 12, in Rockland County when the bear darted in front of the vehicle on Route 202 between Grandview Avenue and Kimmissy Court in Ramapo.
