Yonkers Legend Angelo Martinelli, Longest-Serving Mayor In City History, Dies Angelo Martinelli, the longest-serving mayor in Yonkers history, died peacefully at his home on Saturday. He was 91.  Martinelli served as the city's mayor from 1974 to 1979 and from 1982-1987. “Our hearts are saddened today,” said Yonkers Mayor Spano. “We have lost a great man, a selfless public servant and a beloved father and grandfather.
