Man Sentenced For Stabbing Trump Supporters During 'Stop The Steal' Rally At NY Capitol
A New York man will spend years in prison for a vicious stabbing attack on two supporters of former President Donald Trump during a “Stop the Steal” rally outside the state Capitol building in Albany on Jan. 6, 2021. Alexander Contompasis, age 39, of Albany, was sentenced to an aggregate term of 20 years behind bars Thursday, Nov. 17, in Albany County Supreme Court. It followed his October 2022 jury conviction on multiple violent felonies, including first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Shocking New Survey Reveals Percentage Of Americans Who Say Political Violence May Be Necessary
A significant number of Americans believe that violence may be necessary to improve national politics and policies, according to a new study. On Thursday, Feb. 10, the American Survey Center revealed that nearly one-third of Americans (29 percent) agreed with the statement “If elected leaders will not protect America, the people must do it themselves even if it requires taking violent actions.” Nearly 70 percent of Americans rejected violence as a means to political ends, according to the survey. ID Released For Man Arrested In Connection With Mail Bombs Sent To Political Figures
The man arrested Friday morning in his home state of Florida in connection with the series of pipe bombs sent to political and government officials has been identified. Cesar Sayoc Jr., 56, of Aventura, Florida, is in federal custody after at least 12 packages containing the devices were sent to prominent Democrats and critics of President Trump.
