A woman is facing charges after she allegedly attempted to steal more than $200 worth of merchandise from a Macy’s retail store, police say. Yorktown Police responded to Macy’s at Jefferson Valley Mall (700 Lee Boulevard) on Monday, March 18 around 6 p.m. on the report of a shoplifter in custody. A 50-year-old alleged shoplifter was arrested after being accused of stealing $720 in merchandise at Macy’s at the Jefferson Valley Mall. Officers from the Yorktown Police Department responded to the mall shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, where there was a report of a shoplifting incident in Macy’s, with a suspect in custody. A woman from Carmel has been accused of stealing approximately $310 worth of merchandise from the Macy’s retail store in Yorktown, police say. Yorktown Police responded to the Macy’s store located in Jefferson Valley Mall on Sunday, Feb. 24 around 5:30 p.m. on the report of a subject being detained for an alleged larceny. A 56-year-old Macy's employee was nabbed for allegedly ripping off money from the cash register. Desmond Mighty of Cortlandt Manor was arrested Thursday, Oct. 4, after Yorktown Police received a call from Macy's staff at the Jefferson Valley Mall, reporting an employee was being held for a larceny complaint, said the Yorktown Police. An H&M employee at the Jefferson Valley Mall in Yorktown Heights was busted after allegedly stealing more than $1,000 from his employer. Investigators from the Yorktown Police Department were alerted on Aug. 20 from H&M that an employee had been making fraudulent return transactions and placing the money on gift cards without authorization. A 60-year-old man in a suspicious van was busted with crack cocaine in the Jefferson Valley Mall parking lot in the middle of the day, police said.
