Marie Menna-Doescher, age 61, of Eastchester, died on Tuesday, May 17, after earlier surviving a 9/11 linked cancer relating to her volunteer work for the Red Cross at Ground Zero, according to her obituary. In 1965 the family moved to Eastchester. Her schooling began uneventfully enough, but after singing a solo in a musical performance at Eastchester High School, she blossomed as a natural singing talent, pursuing her singing career …

Services Set For Off-Duty Nypd Officer From Westchester Killed In Crash Funeral arrangements have been made for the off-duty NYPD officer from Westchester who died this week when he drove head-on into a garbage truck. On Wednesday, Jan. 16, New Rochelle resident Brian Kessler, 28, was driving home from an overnight shift at 1 Police Plaza at approximately 8:20 a.m. when he struck a city Parks Department garbage truck on Shore Road in Pelham Bay. Kessler was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, where he was pronounced dead.
