Emergency crews are on the scene of a gas explosion that destroyed a home in the region and left around a dozen of people injured. The Dutchess County incident happened at around 12:20 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, in the village of Wappingers Falls, at a single-family home on Brick Row near Mill Street. Firefighters are working at a fire and building collapse with several streets closed around Mesier Park, according to the Dutchess County Emergency Management department. First responders in Dutchess County responded to the Envoy Plaza Condo Complex on Beechwood Avenue in Poughkeepsie shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, where there was a report of a kitchen fire that broke out. One Dead In Hudson Valley Condominium Fire
One person died when a fire broke out in a second-floor Hudson Valley condo unit, officials announced. Crews from the Arlington Fire Department responded to the Greenbriar Condominiums on South Road (Route 9) in Poughkeepsie at approximately 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, where there was a report of smoke coming from underneath the sink of a unit. Utility crews in the Hudson Valley worked through the overnight to repair damages caused by the wind storm that is toppling trees and tree limbs onto power lines, leaving tens of thousands of homes and businesses without power. A Wind Advisory has been extended until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2.
