A horse has been returned to its owners after it was found wandering in Westchester in an apparent attempt to grab a morning coffee. The horse was found by New Rochelle Police early on Friday morning, May 3 after escaping from its owners in Larchmont. Eventually, after running through Larchmont, the horse made its way to New Rochelle, where it was found in the parking lot of the Starbucks at 80 Huguenot St. across from a Taco Bell, according to the Fairfield-Westchester Professional Horsemen's Association. Several ducklings were reunited with their mother just in time for Mother's Day after they were rescued from a storm drain in the Hudson Valley. Police in Rockland County reported that a resident saw a duck flying in circles around a storm drain on Riverside Drive in Suffern on the evening of Saturday, May 7, and he then found a group of ducklings trapped in the storm drain. Martha Stewart is mourning the death of one of her fluffy cats named Princess Peony after she was killed by her four dogs in New York. On Sunday, March 3, Stewart posted to Instagram the news that her dogs mistook the "unusual" cat on her 153-acre farm located in Northern Westchester County in the hamlet of Katonah. A stray parakeet found in Westchester is now being cared for at the New Rochelle Humane Society. The bird, a fluffy white budgie, was found on Irenhyl Avenue in Rye and taken to the Rye Brook Police Department Monday afternoon, June 10. Rye Police said on Tuesday, June 11 that the bird was in the possession of the shelter. Anyone who thinks they recognize the parakeet may call 914-632-2925. The bird "looks well cared for and appears to be in good shape," according to the New Rochelle Humane Society.
