Mercedes-Benz Driver Charged In Wrong-Way Taconic Crash In New Castle A 30-year-old Westchester man is facing multiple charges after a wrong-way, head-on crash on the Taconic State Parkway on Tuesday, Feb. 19. At approximately 11:33 a.m., state police troopers were dispatched to the area of Exit 8 on the Taconic in New Castle for a personal injury collision due to a wrong-way driver.  An investigation found Andrew S. Elias of Mount Pleasant operated his 2007 Mercedes-Benz C230 in a northbound direction in the southbound lanes of the parkway and struck a southbound 2015 Honda CRV operated by John J.
