MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. Two Pace University athletes earned honors for their play this week.
The Womens Basketball Coaches Association named Brittany Shields, the Setters stellar senior forward, as an Honorable Mention All-American. Shields led Pace with 17 points and 10 rebounds per game this season.
She also earned Northeast-10 Conference First Team All-Conference and Daktronics Second Team East Region honors.
The Northeast-10 Conference also named freshman softball catcher Hana Wright as Rookie of the Week. Paces softball team went 7-1 last week, and Wright batted .467 with two home runs, six RBI, five runs scored and three doubles.
She was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI in a sweep of Fayetteville State, and 3-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI, a double and three runs scored in a sweep of Virginia State.
