Pace's Shields and Wright Earn Honors for Play

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – Two Pace University athletes earned honors for their play this week.

The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association named Brittany Shields, the Setters’ stellar senior forward, as an Honorable Mention All-American. Shields led Pace with 17 points and 10 rebounds per game this season.

She also earned Northeast-10 Conference First Team All-Conference and Daktronics Second Team East Region honors.

The Northeast-10 Conference also named freshman softball catcher Hana Wright as Rookie of the Week. Pace’s softball team went 7-1 last week, and Wright batted .467 with two home runs, six RBI, five runs scored and three doubles.

She was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI in a sweep of Fayetteville State, and 3-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI, a double and three runs scored in a sweep of Virginia State.
