Pace Golf Wins Empire State Challenge

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace golf team won the Empire State Challenge on Wednesday with a total team score of 319, six strokes ahead of second place Dowling College, which totaled 325.

Brian Allmendinger, TJ Fitzgerald and Joe Raitano each finished tied for fourth place with individual rounds of 79.

Softball:

Pace was shutout in both games of a doubleheader against conference opponent American International College with a 4-0 loss in game one and a 3-0 loss in game two. The Setters are now 21-13 overall but just 9-11 in conference.

Nicole Schultheis smacked two hits in the two games for Pace, which next takes the field on Friday at 3 p.m. for a non-conference doubleheader at Dominican College.

Baseball:

Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division opponent Adelphi University handed Pace its first division loss of the season on Wednesday with a 9-6 victory over the Setters. Pace is now 16-14 overall, 7-7 in conference and 5-1 in the division.

Kyle Turnier went 2-for-4, while Joe Lombardi drove in two runs for the Setters.

Pace has a quick turnaround as the team hosts non-conference opponent Queens College at Finnerty Field on Thursday at 3 p.m.
