BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. -- The Briarcliff High School’s boys basketball team’s successful season will continue with the Section 1 Class B semifinals at the Westchester County Center Wednesday night.
The Bears put up big numbers and earned the league title this year at 14-4 in the regular season and improved to 16-4 in the post-season with wins against Yonkers Montessori Academy and Croton-Harmon High School.
“I am thrilled,” head coach Codaryl Moffett said in a statement. “It has been a great season.”
Wednesday’s match-up will be against against Irvington High School, a squad that posted a similar season record at 17-3.
The Bulldogs and Bears faced off during a pre-season scrimmage but haven’t seen each other since.
Co-captain and senior Alquan Phillip is excited to face the team that ended the Bears' season in 2014.
“This gives us another chance to avenge that loss,” Phillip said in a statement. “It’s definitely going to be hard, but we are ready.”
