Members of Briarcliff High School’s American Red Cross Club used CrowdRise for their latest fundraising efforts, hoping to raise money to help eradicate diseases like measles and rubella by funding vaccinations distributed by the American Red Cross.

“We needed a way to reach many people in a short period of time,” said Jackie Contento, co-president of the ARC Club. “By using CrowdRise, we got our mission publicized and many generous and caring people joined our efforts to wipe out disease.”

The goal “Wear Red Day” was to spread the Red Cross mission by showing unity and educating others on the many services provided by the American Red Cross, including U.S. soldier support, disaster relief, blood collection services, emergency preparedness and disease eradication.

To date, the club has raised more than $1,000 through its CrowdRise campaign. For every $500 raised, an entire village can be vaccinated.
