“When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Orange Juice” was put together by Lauren Jacoby and Talia London, a duo in Barbara Argentino’s fourth-grade class at the school.

“It was really fun to write and direct,” said Lauren. “It took us about two months to finish the whole production.”

“There were a lot of characters – a mom and a dad, four sisters and two brothers,” said Talia. “They go to summer camp and find an orange juice maker.”

Lauren and Talia enlisted classmates' help in creating props and costumes for the play.

Argentino likes to encourage her students to pitch and follow through with independent projects and is proud of Lauren and Talia's work.

The production was a success, and Lauren and Talia have nuggets of advice for any students looking to launch their own project.

“I feel organization is so important,” said Talia.

“Don’t rush it, and make sure you think about everyone’s input,” added Lauren.
