The awards are given in memory of Milly Kibrick, a prominent county social worker, volunteer and youth activist who dedicated her life to helping underprivileged children.
The aim of the Youth Board’s awards program is to recognize high school students who have been involved in building a flourishing, strong and compassionate community through individual efforts and actions.
“These 10 students are examples of the positive community work and global reach by young people throughout Westchester,” Astorino said. “Just as Milly Kibrick made a lasting impact in Westchester County through her life’s work, this year’s honorees touch so many lives, and will continue to do so in the years to come.”
The recipients of the awards include: Frances Dovell of Hastings High School; Brianna Cauthen of Ossining High School; Jenna Cherasard of Yonkers Middle High School; Scott Cohen of Scarsdale High School; Mason Goodman of North Salem High School; Mariah M. James of Peekskill High School; Joseph Martinez of Saunders Trade and Technical High School; Angelica Nuñez of Lincoln High School; Serena Seales of New Rochelle High School; and Harshal Shet of Archbishop Stepinac High School.
