BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – The week of Thanksgiving was mostly quiet in Briarcliff Manor, village police said.
The Briarcliff Manor Fire Department responded to eight fire calls from Nov. 19 to 26 but none caused significant damage or injuries, representatives with the Fire Department said Monday. Briarcliff Manor Police are investigating a burglary that took place on Thanksgiving and roughly six mailboxes were damaged over the week, but police said the week was largely uneventful in the village.
“It was a very quiet week,” said Police Chief Norman Campion. “A lot of people typically go away during the week but we only had a few minor incidents. It usually is pretty quiet in this community over Thanksgiving so we’re very fortunate.”
Police also reported the following items from Nov. 19 to 26:
• Briarcliff Manor police are investigating a burglary that was reported at 1:34 a.m. Thursday along Long Hill Road East. The police report did not list details of the burglary to help protect the ongoing investigation
• Residents along Frame Road reported that six mailboxes were damaged before 2:45 a.m. Saturday. There were no witnesses and police said the incidents are under investigation but have no suspects.
• Employees at Mrs. Green’s Natural Market on North State Road reported that they were victims of larceny at 11:19 a.m. Friday. Reports indicated that sushi and deli sandwiches were stolen from the store while it was closed. The incident is under investigation.
