Man, 21, Caught With Stolen Ford F250 On I-684

A 21-year-old man found walking on the southbound side of I-684 in Bedford had left a stolen Ford F250 on the roadway after the truck became disabled on Friday afternoon, state police from the Somers barracks said.

At approximately 3:43 p.m., troopers were dispatched to a disabled vehicle in the area of 17.4 northbound on Interstate 684. The Ford F250, which was located on the side of the interstate, was discovered to be stolen from Flushing, Queens, police said.

While canvassing the area to locate the driver, a state police sergeant located Jose O. Amaya Serrano walking on the southbound side of I-684 and placed him in custody.

Amaya Serrano, of Queens, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, a Class D Felony.

An investigation indicated that Amaya Serrano had stolen the vehicle in Queens and was traveling to Connecticut.

Amaya Serrano was arraigned in the Town of Bedford Justice Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail.
