BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. Margaret "Peggy" E. Strome, formerly of Briarcliff Manor, died June 18 at Bentley Village Care Center in Naples, Fla. She was 84.
Strome was born April 11, 1928, in York, Pa., to Arthur and Ethyl Strayer. She was raised in Kingston, Pa., where she attended Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School and met her husband of 57 years, Charles Bowman Strome.
She graduated from Skidmore College and taught at Springside School in Chestnut Hill, Pa., before getting married. Strome was active in the Junior Leagues of Philadelphia and Westchester County and the League Club of Naples.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; a daughter, Molly (Tom) Hahesy, of Randolph, Mass.; two sons, Charles B. (Agatha) Strome III, of New Rochelle, and Arthur L. (Hillary) Strome, Mechanicsburg, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Nancy Benoit, of Naples; and five grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at West Club House in Naples, followed by a luncheon at Audubon Country Club.
