BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. Howard Rasher Esq. of Briarcliff Manor, and formerly of Thornwood and Mount Vernon, died Aug. 7. She was 88.
Rasher was born April 2, 1924, and raised in Mount Vernon, the son of Florence and Albert A. Rasher. He lived in Mount Vernon until the early 1970s. His careers included co-leadership of McMahon Iron and Metal Co., followed by years of legal practice.
Rasher and his wife, Judy, were members of Sinai Temple of Mount Vernon, where he also served as synagogue president. He was a member and vice president of the Mount Vernon Board of Education and a member of the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club. Rasher was an avid Mets fan and an advocate for disabled rights.
He was predeceased by his wife, Judy; and a son, Peter. Rasher is survived by two daughters, Carol and Alice; a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
A funeral service was held Thursday afternoon at Hawthorne Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Hebrew Hospital Home of Westchester, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Westchester or a favorite charity.
