OSSINING, N.Y. The front window of a Spring Street restaurant was broken, and someone took cash from the restaurant's cash register, police said.
Officers received a report of a possible burglary and arrived at R&L Grill at 39 Spring Street on Jan. 1 at around 6 a.m., police said. They found a front window broken but after a search of the building, they determined that no suspects were in the building.
When the owners of the restaurant arrived, they found that cash was missing from the register, police said.
Also in Ossining:
- An employee of Game Stop located in the Arcadian Shopping Center told police that two men stole over 20 games from the store on Dec. 30.
The employee said one man distracted her by asking her many questions while a second man took the games from a shelf behind her, police said.
The first man was described as a light-skinned black man wearing glasses and a red jacket, and the second man was described as a heavy set white man around five-foot-10, wearing a yellow jacket with a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Both men fled the store, police said.
- A resident of 88 Spring St. told police that her personal bank account was charged over $80 for a point-of-sale transaction in Virginia that she did not make, police said.
The victim notified the bank as well as police. She told police that she had lost her purse several days prior to the incident at the Jefferson Valley Mall, but the purse had been returned by a store employee in the mall.
