BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. Theres no reason to leave the Briarcliff Manor area this weekend if youre looking for something to do. Heres a list of weekend events in Ossining and Briarcliff Manor.
Friday
- Ossining High School presents Aida, a show written by Elton John and Tim Rice. The show, inspired by the original Italian Opera of the same name, has performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is free.
- The Ossining Public Librarys Get Your GED program gets underway from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tutors are set to be available for free every Friday in the teen room. - The Briarcliff Manor Public Library presents The Eyes of March: Visions of Spring Art Show. The show runs throughout March and features work from members of the Ossining Arts Council.
- Free drop-in help with computers at the Ossining Public Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, residents are asked to contact Cheryl at 941-2416 ext. 315.
- The Maryknoll Sisters Centers Centennial Art Exhibit continues, starting at 10 a.m. The free show, at 10 Pinesbridge Road, runs through May 21.
Saturday

- Story-time and crafts at the Briarcliff Manor Public Library are for children ages 2 to 6 with a parent or guardian. Registration is recommended at 941-7072.
- The All Saints Episcopal Church hosts its weekly exercise class. The free class runs from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 201 Scarborough Road.
Sunday
- The Ossining Public Library presents Quintessentielle Variations Two at the librarys gallery. The show runs throughout March.
- The Ossining Library Foundation presents The Words & Music Concert Series with James Maddock Live at 2 p.m. at the Ossining Public Librarys Budarz Theater. The free concert features James Maddock, who was first recognized in the U.S. as leader of the band Wood. He won the 2010-11 N.Y. Music Award for Best Americana Album for his collection of songs, Sunrise On Avenue C, which he followed up in 2011 with the critically acclaimed album, "Wake Up and Dream."
