What's Happening in Briarcliff Manor This Weekend

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – There’s no reason to leave the Briarcliff Manor area this weekend if you’re looking for something to do. Here’s a list of weekend events in Ossining and Briarcliff Manor.

Friday

- Ossining High School presents “Aida,” a show written by Elton John and Tim Rice. The show, inspired by the original Italian Opera of the same name, has performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is free. 

- The Ossining Public Library’s “Get Your GED” program gets underway from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tutors are set to be available for free every Friday in the teen room. For more information, residents are asked to contact Robin Osborne at the Westchester Library System at (914)231-3237 or rosborne@wlsmail.org.

- The Briarcliff Manor Public Library presents “The Eyes of March: Visions of Spring Art Show.” The show runs throughout March and features work from members of the Ossining Arts Council.

- Free drop-in help with computers at the Ossining Public Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, residents are asked to contact Cheryl at 941-2416 ext. 315.

- The Maryknoll Sisters Center’s Centennial Art Exhibit continues, starting at 10 a.m. The free show, at 10 Pinesbridge Road, runs through May 21.

Saturday

- The Ossining Public Library features a photography class from 1 to 3 p.m. To register prior to the class, residents are asked to contact Director Jim Farrell at 941-2416 ext. 333.

- Story-time and crafts at the Briarcliff Manor Public Library are for children ages 2 to 6 with a parent or guardian. Registration is recommended at 941-7072.

- The All Saints’ Episcopal Church hosts its weekly exercise class. The free class runs from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 201 Scarborough Road.

Sunday

- The Ossining Public Library presents “Quintessentielle Variations Two” at the library’s gallery. The show runs throughout March.  

- The Ossining Library Foundation presents “The Words & Music Concert Series” with James Maddock Live at 2 p.m. at the Ossining Public Library’s Budarz Theater. The free concert features James Maddock, who was first recognized in the U.S. as leader of the band Wood. He won the 2010-11 N.Y. Music Award for Best Americana Album for his collection of songs, Sunrise On Avenue C, which he followed up in 2011 with the critically acclaimed album, "Wake Up and Dream."
