Spring Street Apartment Burglarized: Ossining Cops

OSSINING, N.Y. – A third floor apartment on Spring Street was burglarized on Tuesday at around 5:30 p.m., police said.

Officers were dispatched to 47 Spring St. Tuesday on the report of a burglary in progress, police said. When they arrived there, a woman told officers that there was an intruder in her apartment.

After the officers climbed the stairs to the third-floor apartment, they were met by Andres Dejesus, a resident of the apartment, and another man who Dejesus identified as the intruder.

"This is him. He was in my apartment," Dejesus said, referring to a man who Dejesus had apprehended in the bathroom.

Police arrested Mark Murphy and charged him with second degree burglary, a class C felony, police said.

Murphy was found to be in possession of some stolen property, including keys to the Spring Street building, police said.

Also in Ossining:

- A resident of 45 Spring St. reported on Tuesday at around 3 p.m. that some items were taken from his apartment while he was sleeping, police said.

- A woman reported that the windshield of her 2008 Chrysler Sebring was severely cracked after she left it parked behind the Chase Bank at 21 Spring St. overnight from Monday to Tuesday, police said. It appeared that something had struck the windshield.
