OSSINING, N.Y. Open Door Family Medical Centers is accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys with a maximum value of $20 for its annual Holiday Toy Drive to benefit young patients who stop by to see Santa during the holiday season.
The federally-qualified community health center hopes to collect 2,500 gifts, ensuring its young patients receive a brand new wrapped gift this December when Santa stops by Open Doors four offices with his sack in tow, Open Door officials said in a press release.
Toys geared towards patients from infants to 14-year-olds can be dropped off at any of Open Doors four locations in Ossining, Sleepy Hollow, Port Chester or Mount Kisco. Gift certificates and monetary donations are also accepted, and toys can also be purchased online via Amazon, Kohls and Toys R Us for delivery to Open Door.
Organizations or individuals interested in hosting a toy drive, anyone needing a pick up for large donations, and anyone interested in volunteering to sort and wrap gifts should contact Alicia Ward at 914-502-1468 or award@ood.org.
