Mount Kisco Man Charged in Hawthorne Assault

VALHALLA, N.Y. – The Mount Pleasant Police Department arrested Josue Perez, 28 of Mount Kisco, and charged him with assault stemming from an incident in Hawthorne.

Perez was arrested Monday and charged with second degree assault, a felony, and third degree attempted assault, a misdemeanor.  According to police, on Sunday Perez allegedly struck the victim in the head with a large branch, which caused a wound that required four stitches. Police said the victim was an acquaintance of Perez. Perez was arraigned and released on $1,500 cash bail pending a future court appearance.

Attempted Burglary:  A resident on Wappinger Trail in Briarcliff Manor told Mount Pleasant Police Friday that two people attempted to burglarize his home. The resident told police about the incident after a neighbor saw the individuals on his property.  The resident said the two individuals fled the scene after being noticed and left in a dark colored car, which sat low to the ground and featured a loud exhaust system.  No arrest in the incident has been made.
