A group of 16 runners passed through Ossining today on their way from Montreal to New York City.
The runners started their fundraising run on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and expected to reach their destination by about noon today.
Participants took turns running in between two trucks driven by team mates. When one group stopped running, another group would take over. There was a group running 24 hours per day since Friday.
"We have people here who didn't even run one kilometer before training for this," said runner Felix Guevremont before jumping back onto a truck to follow his teammates down Route 9.
The runners are working with a group called Esprit de Corps that organizes athletic fund-raising activities, such as runs and climbs. Guevremont said they are raising money for a Montreal family in difficulty.
