Coyote Chases Tarrytown Mother, Daughter to House

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – An aggressive coyote chased a mother and her 6-year-old daughter into their house on Martling Avenue, Tarrytown police said.

The woman called police and reported that around 8 a.m., she and her daughter were outside in front of her home when she saw a coyote. The coyote then “became aggressive toward her and chased her into her residence,” police said.

When the mother and daughter got inside their house, the coyote then sat on the front steps, police said. Police notified Greenburgh Animal Control and the Department of Environmental Conservation.

Internet Scams: The Pinnacle Company reported that a series of Internet scams involved people claiming to be representatives of the company to commit fraud.

Con Edison Car Accident: Con Edison reported that a mini loader struck a parked car on Hanford Place around 10 a.m., causing damage to the rear driver's quarter panel.

Stolen Roof and Bike Rack: A man reported around 2 p.m. on March 17. that his roof rack and bike rack were stolen from the roof of his car while it was parked on Grove Street near Benedict Avenue the day before.

Grand Larceny: A woman reported that an unknown woman had attempted to withdraw $9,000 from her Chase bank account in person and online around noon on March 17.

Forged Gift Cards: Police charged Justin Parks, 24, with two counts of possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, a felony, after they said they found fraudulent American Express prepaid gift cards with zero balances around 6:30 p.m. on March 15 at the Bridge Plaza on South Broadway. Parks was taken to the Westchester County Jail.

Money Goes Unreturned: An employee at the Mobil Mart told police a woman came in to buy gas but had no money so he lent her $20 on March 15. The man told police the woman never returned his money. Police told the man it was a civil matter.
