The program also allows students to listen to and record music and learn about music theory.
“For my digital music students in both middle and high school, the software empowers them to compose and engage in higher order musical activities even though they have limited traditional musical skills,” teacher Marc Tartell said. “For my high school band, MusicFirst provides resources for listening, recording performances, composition and theory.”
The program recently helped inspire a student to compose music that she wouldn’t have been able to otherwise.
“Prior to having a music lab, our students would never have had this kind of opportunity to discover their musical talent in composition,” said Tartell.
