Briarcliff Community Center At Law Memorial Park Nears Completion

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- The Community Center in the old rail station at Law Memorial Park in Briarcliff Manor is proceeding. The anticipated finish date is late January for its grand opening.

The Community Center was part of a package for a bond referendum for the new library.

The bond referendum failed on two previous public votes. The Board of Trustees then proposed to include the community center in the old rail station and the bond passed, allowing the library to be built eight years ago.

The Community Center phase is now near a reality. It will house a meeting room with new telecast capabilities, a kitchen for gatherings and an oculus opening on the second floor to give an open air feeling. The second floor will be utilized for exhibits and also houses an open reading area, computer work stations and study areas.

The Law Memorial Park is at 1031 Pleasantville Road, Briarcliff Manor.
