BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. - Richard C. Bentzen of Briarcliff Manor died Nov. 18 at the age of 83.
A retired Lt. Col. in the US Army Reserves, Bentzen owned a construction company. He graduated from White Plains High School in 1946 and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1950. Bentzen owned Schipp Construction Company in Mahopac, N.Y.
He is survived by his sons Richard D. Bentzen with his wife Anne and Russell C. Bentzen and his wife Robin and four grandchildren. Bentzen was predeceased by his wife Elsa in 2005.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home in Briarcliff Manor. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charitable organization for the benefit and protection of animals.
