Briarcliff Manor's Cohn, 86, Remembered Thursday

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. - Margaret "Peggy" Cohn, of Briarcliff Manor, died Jan. 10 at the age of 86. 

Born and raised in New Rochelle, she was the daughter of Edward Gordon and Ethel Branner Gordon. She graduated from Edgewood Park Junior College in 1943.

Cohn enjoyed reading, theater, traveling and playing bridge. Last year, she became involved with and helped found the People's Center for Peace and Justice in Ossining. Cohn was also a part of WESTPAC in White Plains. 

She is survived by daughters Carol Cohn of Ossining, Ellen Cohn of New York City and Jeanne (Franklin) Mirer of Brooklyn, N.Y., son Andrew Cohn of Newton, Mass., daughter-in-law Marcia Leavitt, sister-in-law Joan Morse Gordon, four grandchildren and a great-grandson. Cohn was predeceased by her husband Maurice J. Cohn and her brothers Gilbert and Donald Gordon.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Riverside Memorial Chapel in New York City.
