Flames Bar & Grill, Briarcliff Manor
What Makes It A Cut Above: Its 30 year reputation Flames (under new management for the last two) means this Westchester institution has a faithful following. Expect an elegant, white table-clothed interior and the highest quality steak. The restaurant dry ages its own beef, runs a full bar and has “tons of wines from all over,” according to its owner. (An estimated 60,000 bottles are in its collection.)
Citizen reviewers compare Flames’ sizzling fare to Peter Luger's, as well as Smith and Wollensky's and Morton’s in New York City.
