What to Do in Briarcliff Manor This Weekend

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. – Here is a look at the events in Ossining and Briarcliff Manor this weekend:

Friday

 - The Briarcliff Manor Public Library presents “The Eyes of March: Visions of Spring Art Show.” The show runs throughout March, features work from members of the Ossining Arts Council.

- Free drop-in help with computers at the Ossining Public Library will be held from 11 a.m. to1 p.m. For more information, residents are asked to contact Cheryl at 941-2416 ext. 315.

Ossining’s AMD Middle School presents “Doo Wop Wed Widing Hood.” The middle school musical features more than 70 AMD students and combines the “Red Riding Hood” fairy tale with the doo-wop culture of the ‘50s. The free show begins at 6:30 p.m. in AMD Cafetorium.

Briarcliff Manor High School presents “Sugar.” The musical, based off the 1959 film “Some Like It Hot” starring Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe, revolves around two musicians, Jerry and Joe, who witness the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre in Chicago and join an all-female band led by singer Sugar Kane in order to escape gangsters hot on their tails. Saturday

 - The Ossining Public Library features a photography class from 1 to 3 p.m. To register prior to the class, residents are asked to contact Director Jim Farrell at 941-2416 ext. 333.

- The original “Star Wars” trilogy continues on the big screen with a free presentation of “The Empire Strikes Back” at 2 p.m. at the Ossining Public Library’s Budarz Theater.

- Story-time and crafts time at the Briarcliff Manor Public Library is scheduled for children ages 2 to 6 with a parent or guardian. Registration is recommended at 941-7072.

Sunday

 - The Ossining Public Library presents the opening for “Quintessentielle Variations Two” from 2 to 4 p.m. at the library’s gallery. The public is invited to meet the artists, see the photography and enjoy light refreshments.
