During the three-hour workshop, Hayes will explore the principals and fundamentals of how to teach yoga when working with large bodies. It will help teachers better understand how to work effectively and sensitively with larger individuals, maneuvering their bodies into yoga postures securely and comfortably. Participants will learn how to use props such as blocks, straps, belts and chairs, and they will learn how to create a space to invite students to participate in exploring yoga.

Hayes holds yoga certifications from Sivananda, Allison West’s Yoga Union and Dan Olansky’s Yoga Therapy and is also a certified massage therapist. He has traveled regularly to Thailand to study with master teachers, and his classes will benefit anyone regardless of their individual anatomy, flexibility, age or yoga background. Hayes’ much acclaimed and one-of-a-kind Buddha Yoga practice has been featured in the New York Times, the New York Post and the New York Daily News, and has been covered by Reuters, ABC News and CBS News.
