The discussion will be in the Briarcliff Public Library's Crandall Room.
Raftery will give an illustrated presentation on the cemeteries in the county from the 17th century through the present.
He will share his knowledge on types of burial grounds, tombstones and funeral customs, with emphasis on the cemeteries at Sparta and Sleepy Hollow. He also will speculate as to why he thinks Briarcliff Manor does not have a cemetery.
Refreshments will be served following the presentation in the Eileen O'Connor Weber Historical Center, where sets of Raftery's award-winning books will be on sale.
