A medical examiner has determined how a prominent federal prosecutor died after his body was discovered inside a government building. Former Acting US Attorney Andrew Haden, 48, died by suicide, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed, according to the Los Angeles Times. The cause of death was hanging. Haden was found inside a vacant office at the Edward J. Schwartz Federal Building in downtown San Diego late Wednesday, Aug. 19, shortly after he was reported missing. Car Catches Fire On Taconic State Parkway In Westchester
A vehicle caught fire on the Taconic State Parkway in Northern Westchester, sending smoke up into the air. The fire broke out on the northbound side of the parkway near Route 202 in Yorktown around 7:03 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, according to the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters found the burning vehicle just before the entrance to Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park. Crews stretched a hose line and quickly put out the flames without incident, the department said. A New York man assaulted a juvenile at MetLife Stadium during the preseason Jets-Giants game on Friday, Aug. 28, authorities said.
