Heavy Rain Results In Flurry Of Crashes, Collisions On Westchester Roadways

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Downpours of heavy rain throughout the area early Saturday morning resulted in numerous car accidents.

Separate crashes were reported on the Taconic State Parkway between 8:30 and 9 a.m.

An accident that occurred at 8:43 a.m. blocked the right lane on the northbound Taconic State Parkway at Route 134 in Ossining.

An accident was also reported on Bear Mountain Bridge Road at 8:45 a.m.

An accident on northbound I-684 at I-84, reported at 11 a.m., resulted in backups to Hardscrabble Road (Exit 8).

A fallen tree has resulted in heavy delays on southbound Route 100A at Route 100B in Greenburgh. Stop-and-go traffic has been reported as a result of the 10:50 a.m. incident.

There is a 40 percent chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms the rest of the day Saturday. The high temperature will be between 82 and 84 degrees with extreme humidity at or around 90 percent.
