Police: Peekskill Athlete In Trio Who Cashed Victim's $2,000 Check With Bogus Driver's License A Peekskill athlete was among a trio of accused ID thieves thwarted -- this time by bank employees and police in New Jersey -- after they tried cashing a bogus check for $2,000 using a driver’s license they’d created from an innocent victim’s personal information, authorities said. Arrests Made In Empire City Casino Winner Car-Bump Robbery Two men were in custody after authorities said they robbed a casino gambler by bumping his car from behind on Route 208 in Wyckoff and claiming they were police officers. The driver told police he’d left the Empire City Casino in Yonkers around 5:30 a.m. Sept. 2 and was headed north on the highway when his vehicle was struck from behind near Cedar Hill Avenue.
