In another sign that New York is in full recovery mode from the COVID-19 pandemic, the state announced that it will be closing down its drive-through testing site in Westchester, the first hotspot for the virus when the outbreak began. Westchester Beaches Will Remain Open Due To Extreme Heat
There is an upside to extreme heat: Westchester County is opening up beaches normally closed on Tuesday, Aug. 7 due to another official heat wave.Two popular beaches -- in Rye and New Rochelle -- are normally closed on Tuesdays. Coyote Attack On Sheep Reported At Muscoot Farm
County officials said a coyote may have killed a sheep at Muscoot Farm in Somers and injured two others on Thursday. The sheep were found when employees to perform morning farm chores Thursday and noticed a sheep lying in the field and two others limping, said Alexis Joondeph-Breidbart, a spokeswoman for Westchester County. Muscoot Farm is an early 20th-century interpretative farm museum that is owned and operated by the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Conservation.
