The incident took place in Northern Westchester County in Croton-on-Hudson around 11 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, officials said. First responders in Putnam County from the Mahopac and Mahopac Falls Fire Department and Carmel Police Department were dispatched to Dixon Lake at approximately 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28 in Mahopac, where there was a report of an overturned boat. An 8-year-old boy drowned after being underwater for some time when a boat carrying seven children and one adult flipped over in Haverstraw Bay. The incident took place around 1:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, about 100 feet off of Haverstraw Bay, said Rockland County Sheriff's Chief William Barbera.
