Going Once: Hotel In Hudson Valley To Be Sold At Auction After several years of being operated by a management company, a popular, well-appointed hotel in the region is being auctioned next month. According to Ten-X, the 121-room Holiday Inn Express in Dutchess County on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie will be auctioned on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The company-owned property was originally put up for sale in 2020, but it was pulled due to the pandemic and market plunges.  Ten-X says the property is offered unencumbered by management and debt. Dutchess County resident Elizabeth "Tiki" Rodgers, of Hyde Park, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 29, in Poughkeepsie, according to her obituary. Man Dies After Jumping From Bridge In Area A local man was killed after he jumped from an area bridge. The incident took place around 6:05 p.m., Saturday, April 24 in Dutchess County when 37-year-old Brendan J. Paredes, of Wappinger, jumped from the bridge on the Walkway Over the Hudson in the City of Poughkeepsie, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. Suicidal Man Holding Onto Walkway Over Hudson Railing Pulled To Safety In a dramatic rescue, a distraught man who had climbed over the Walkway Over the Hudson and was dangling over the water clinging to a railing was pulled to safety by City of Poughkeepsie police, and a firefighter.
