Car Crashes Into Northern Westchester Primary Care Building: (Developing) A vehicle crashed into a primary care center in Northern Westchester.  The incident happened on Thursday, Dec. 12 at around 2:45 p.m. at the Optum primary care building in Somers at 342 Route 202, according to reports. The crash left one of the roadway's shoulders blocked.  More information about the crash has not yet been released. Car Catches On Fire On Taconic Parkway In Northern Westchester An early morning vehicle blaze sent up plenty of smoke on a busy parkway in Northern Westchester.  The fire began on Tuesday, Nov. 12 around 6 a.m. on the southbound Taconic State Parkway in Briarcliff Manor, where a vehicle went up in flames, according to the Hawthorne Fire Department, which helped fight the blaze.  Arriving firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire in the parkway's right shoulder.  No injuries were reported.

Stuck, Bottomed-Out Oil Tanker Briefly Closes Busy Westchester Intersection A hilly Westchester intersection was temporarily closed to traffic as towing crews worked to remove an oil tanker that bottomed out and became stuck in the middle of the roadway.  The closure happened in Yonkers on Monday afternoon, July 15, when an oil tanker became stuck while traversing the hill at the intersection of Ashburton Avenue and Warburton Avenue, according to Yonkers Police.  The tanker was eventually removed with the help of several heavy-duty tows. Vehicle Rollover Snaps Pole, Shuts Down Busy Road In Northern Westchester A vehicle rollover in Northern Westchester damaged a telephone pole and caused a temporary closure on a busy road. The incident happened on Saturday, March 9 just before 2 p.m., when a car rolled over on Route 133 in New Castle and hit a pole, snapping it in half, according to the Millwood Fire Department.  Arriving emergency responders and police soon shut down the road while members of the Chappaqua Volunteer Ambulance Corps evaluated the driver.  Crews responded to the scene for around an hour and a half.

Crash Scatters Debris On Busy Northern Westchester Road A one-car crash briefly impacted morning traffic on a busy route in Northern Westchester.  The incident happened on Tuesday, March 5 at around 9:45 a.m., when a car slammed into a guardrail in Route 9 in Croton-on-Hudson just north of the Croton River Bridge, according to the village's fire department. Although the crash was initially reported as a rollover, arriving crews found that this was not the case and quickly began cleaning up debris while controlling traffic.  The driver declined any medical attention, the department said.

Tractor-Trailer Crashes Into Saw Mill Parkway Overpass In Northern Westchester Whoops.  A tractor-trailer hit an overpass on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Chappaqua shearing off the top of the vehicle. The incident took place southbound around 10:10 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, at the bridge at Route 120, said the Westchester County Police. No one was injured and luckily, the tractor-trailer was empty.  It took just took a while to remove the truck from under the bridge. Traffic was not impacted, police said.

The incident took place around 7:40 a.m., Friday, Oct. 18, when the car traveling eastbound on Yonkers Avenue struck the man who allegedly stepped onto the roadway, said Yonkers Police Det. Lt. Dean Politopoulos. The man was reportedly struck by a woman, who police say is in her 50s. Traffic was shut down in the area for about two hours following the incident. Person Seriously Injured After Falling Or Jumping Onto I-95 In Westchester, Police Say Two southbound lanes of I-95 in New Rochelle have reopened after a person either fell or jumped onto the highway from an overpass, according to the New York State Police. The incident took place around 10:08 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the Webster Avenue overpass in New Rochelle, said Trooper Tara McCormick.  The lanes were closed between Exits 15 and 16, McCormick said. The person, who has not been identified, suffered extensive head injuries and was transported to an area hospital, she said. Motorists are advised to avoid the area as police investigate the incident, she added.
