Area Heroin Dealer Sentenced On Drug, Weapon Charges
A felon with multiple previous narcotics arrests will spend nearly a decade in prison after pleading guilty to multiple drug and weapon charges. Putnam County District Attorney Robert Tendy announced on Thursday, Jan. 27 that Mahopac resident Kyle Novotny has been sentenced to seven years in state prison followed by two years of post-release supervision following his guilty plea in December. Months-Long Water Restriction Measures Take Effect In Parts Of Northern Westchester
A months-long effort to conserve water in parts of Westchester County is now in effect. Northern Westchester Joint Water Works has asked customers to restrict water usage from Monday, July 12 through Tuesday, Oct. 12. The company provides drinking water to the Town of Cortlandt, Town of Yorktown, Town of Somers, the Montrose Improvement District, and Buchanan. Water Works said in a news release that it is working on capital improvements at its Amawalk Water Treatment Facility, and this work reduces its production capacity by 25%. Westchester County Executive George Latimer said he made it a point to visit all 19 towns and six cities in the county during the month of March.
