A man has been left with both a gunshot wound and assault charges after allegedly breaking into a Northern Westchester residence and beating a victim with a metal pipe before being shot in self-defense, police said. Bronx resident Raymond L. Laudo was arrested on Wednesday, June 28, and charged with assaulting and strangling a victim at a residence in Somers, according to New York State Police. Two Charged With DWI In Sobriety Checkpoint In Northern Westchester
A pair of local residents were charged with driving while intoxicated during a fixed sobriety checkpoint conducted in Northern Westchester. The checkpoint was set up in Somers along a stretch of Route 35 on Friday, Nov. 23. The two facing DWI charges are: Dennis Enriques, 38, of Cortlandt Manor, charged with Felony DWI (Leandra's Law) with a court date of Dec. 3 in the Town of Somers Court. Robert Goetz, 50, of Pleasantville, charged with DWI (misdemeanor) with a court date of Dec. 3 in the Town of Somers Court.

Man Charged In Thanksgiving Day Road-Rage Incident In Northern Westchester
A 62-year-old man is facing multiple charges after state police say he was involved in a Thanksgiving Day road-rage incident in Northern Westchester. At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22, a victim of road rage led the man's vehicle to the parking lot of the State Police Somers barracks on Route 100. The state police sergeant at the barracks heard the disturbance and investigated. Somers resident John A. New York State Police troopers busted a man from Putnam County for his third DWI during a stop on Route 202 in Somers. Troopers stopped Carmel resident George Gojcaj, 45, at approximately 11:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 29, after he made a violation while driving on Route 202. Police said that further investigation determined that Gojcaj was driving while under the influence of alcohol, and with a suspended license.
