These Westchester Beaches, Pools To Open: Here's When As the temperatures get warmer, Westchester residents will soon be able to cool off at several county-owned beaches and pools that will soon open. Beginning on Saturday, May 25 through Monday, May 27, Croton Point Beach in Croton-on-Hudson and Glen Island Beach in New Rochelle will open on a pre-season basis, Westchester County Parks announced.  Following this, both beaches will open on weekends and holidays only until Sunday, June 23. Sudden Shutdown Forces Summer Program Relocations At Sprain Ridge Pool With the Sprain Ridge Pool being closed indefinitely after it was found not to be structurally sound in Yonkers, officials in Westchester have begun rescheduling events and programs that were planned for the summer season before the sudden shutdown. Earlier this week, Westchester County Executive George Latimer announced that in an attempt to reopen the pool in Yonkers before July 4 last year, contractors rushed work at the pool, which resulted in structural issues.
