Baseball fans headed to the Red Sox-Houston ALCS Game 4 at Fenway Park in Boston escaped serious injury when the plane they were aboard crashed and caught on fire. The crash took place around 10 a.m. Central Time on Tuesday, Oct. 19, in Houston, Texas, not too far from the Houston Executive Airport, said the Texas Department of Public Safety. Authorities Ask For Help Identifying Man Found Dead In Wooden Chest In Westchester
Authorities in Westchester County are asking the public for help identifying a man whose body was found in a wooden chest on the side of the Saw Mill River Parkway more than four decades ago. The man's body was discovered in Hastings-on-Hudson at 10:15 a.m. on April 23, 1978, by a driver traveling north on the parkway, according to the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. The driver pulled over after seeing a cedar chest on the side of the road and found that the chest was nailed shut. He opened the chest with a tire iron and found the man's body inside. Longtime Lacrosse Coach From Area Among Six Killed In Plane Crash
A longtime varsity lacrosse coach who grew up in the area was one of six people killed in a small plane in Texas. The twin-engine Beechcraft BE58 crashed about 70 miles northwest of San Antonio on Monday, April 22. Angela Webb Kensinger, 54, a Fairfield County native who grew up in New Canaan, was killed along with her husband, 55-year-old Stuart Kensinger, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
