An officer from the Yorktown Police Department who was conducting a business check of the mall at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Thursday night reported that he saw “suspicious drug activity” by several people standing near a parked car. Meet 'Spar': New K-9 Officer Joins Yorktown Police Force The Yorktown Police Department welcomed its newest four-legged officer to the force this week, Spar, a trained German Shepard police dog, joining fellow K9 Dallas, to form the Yorktown Police Canine Unit. Spar’s duties will include drug detection and patrol, while Dallas is trained primarily for the task of drug detection.
