2 Attempted Vehicle Thefts Reported In Northern Westchester Neighborhood: Here's Where
A quiet residential street in Northern Westchester was rocked by two attempted vehicle thefts on the same night, police announced. The incidents happened on Tuesday, May 28 around 6:40 p.m. on Church Tavern Road in the hamlet of South Salem in the town of Lewisboro, according to Lewisboro Police. The department did not release more information about the attempted thefts, including if any arrests were made. A 34-year-old New York man surrendered to police in Connecticut for allegedly stealing more than $385,000 in custom electrical components and specialized tools and pawning them. Video: Police Help Hawk Fly Free After It Crashes Into Westchester Home
A hawk that accidentally crashed through the window of a Westchester County home was saved thanks to the help of police officers who knew just what to do. On Monday, Jan. 2, the bird of prey flew into a home in Greenburgh, leading the homeowner to call police for help, Greenburgh police said. After arriving at the house, officers were able to throw a blanket over the distressed bird and carry it back outside.
